The X-Rayl Sensors S3 extend the functionality of the X-Rayl Pointer S3, allowing the detection of many crucial aspects of your asset. Each sensor has a wide variety of use cases providing maximum insight and control over assets, or the fleet and its cargo. They can be mounted right at the source of the information, allowing for data collection with pinpoint-precision.
The sensors are maintenance-free, easy to mount, integrate seamlessly into the X-Rayl system, and can be used under any conditions, since they have the highest standard of ATEX certification available.
The X-Rayl Sensor S3DST is based on the latest radar technology and allows for distance measurements of objects with millimeter precision.
The X-Rayl Sensor S3TMP-D comes with a PT1000 temperature probe, which provides a measurement range from -30° to + 250°C.
The X-Rayl Sensor S3PRS-D was developed to measure the absolute pressure in pipe systems.
The X-Rayl Sensor S3MEP-D is a contact sensor, developed to detect the presence of ferromagnetic metals.
The X-Rayl Sensor S3ACC-D is designed to detect sudden acceleration which can occur during shunting or loading.
The X-Rayl Sensor S3VIB-D detects the vibrations of a wagon. This allows it to determine damage to the wheelsets, like flat spots shortly after the damage occurs.
The X-Rayl Sensor S3LUX-D acts as a theft prevention device, through measurements of the ambient light levels in enclosed compartments that require monitoring.
The X-Rayl Sensor S3ATT-D determines the relative spatial location of a wagon or container allowing for quick detection of derailment or tilt events.
The X-Rayl Sensor S3HUM-D allows monitoring of relative humidity and temperature. It continuously analyses the surrounding atmosphere to detect undesirable conditions.
The X-Rayl display S3DSP serves as a flexibly positionable local display of states and measured values.
All X-Rayl Sensors are designed to be 100 percent maintenance free over their lifetime of 10+ years. No battery changes or charging is required, activation and deactivation as well as configuration is done automatically or over the air.
All X-Rayl Sensors are certified according to ATEX, UKEX and IECEx, conform to the standards:

Easy to mount
All X-Rayl Sensors S3 are easy to mount due to a variety of available mounting plates. In case of special mounting requirements individual mounting plates can be created according to customer specifications.
From the data transmission to the X-Rayl Pointer to the passing on of the data to the DOT backend services, the data generated by all X-Ray Sensors is always transmitted with strong industry standard encryption.
Each X-Rayl Sensors S3 only weighs up to 280 grams (excluding mounting plates) and has a very small form factor, allowing for installation even in places where regular hardware might be too heavy (e.g. pipes).
The large LCD display of all X-Rayl Sensor S3 (except SS3DST) allows users to easily verify the values measured by the sensor when standing in front of the asset the sensor is mounted on. This allows on site personnel to monitor sensor values and verify the operation of the sensor.
High sampling frequency
By default the X-Rayl Sensor S3 are configured to sample data at 10 second intervals. On board difference and gradient detection allow for reduced sample transmission in case the measured value has not changed since the last measurement, saving energy and data.
No service fee
In combination with an X-Rayl Pointer, the operation of X-Rayl Sensors is free of charge. When pairing third party sensors with X-Rayl Pointers, a service charge may apply.
Future-proof thanks to Over-the-air Updates
All DOT devices have the option of over-the-air firmware updates, which ensures that our customers benefit from new features, improved reliability, and maximum security, all remotely without physical contact. The updates are of course encrypted, from a secure server.
